Abducted Bauchi traditional ruler found dead

Reports indicate that Badamasi was seized by gunmen who raided his residence on Friday

The abducted village head of Riruwai in Lame District of Bauchi Emirate, located in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, Alhaji Garba Badamasi, has been tragically found deceased.

Reports indicate that Badamasi was seized by gunmen who raided his residence on Friday. According to a source speaking anonymously, the assailants targeted Badamasi’s palace and forcibly took him away.

Tragically, the late traditional ruler spent one day in captivity before meeting his untimely demise. His lifeless body was discovered dumped in the vicinity of the village after a search and rescue effort by concerned individuals.

Subsequently, Badamasi’s remains were recovered and brought back to his palace on Sunday, where funeral prayers and burial rites were conducted to lay him to rest.

It was reported that one of the traditional title holders of the village confirmed the incident.

However, efforts to confirm the incident from the police failed as the Bauchi State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ahmed Wakili, did not answer calls made to his phone number nor respond to the text sent to him as of the time of filing this report.
