Manchester City will face Chelsea in the semi-finals of the FA Cup at Wembley, while Manchester United’s thrilling win against Liverpool earns them a meeting with second-tier Coventry.

The draw for the last four, held on Sunday, raised the possibility of a repeat of last season’s all-Manchester FA Cup final, which City won 2-1.

City, chasing a treble this season, comfortably reached the semi-finals with a 2-0 victory over Newcastle on Saturday.

On the other hand, Chelsea needed two stoppage-time goals to overcome Championship promotion contenders Leicester 4-2 at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

United staged a dramatic comeback from 2-1 and 3-2 down to defeat Liverpool 4-3 at Old Trafford on Sunday, clinching victory with Amad Diallo’s last-gasp strike in extra time.

In the semi-finals, United will face Coventry, who stunned Wolves 3-2 at Molineux on Saturday with two stoppage-time goals.

United manager Erik ten Hag acknowledged Coventry’s challenge: “To reach the final, we have to beat Coventry, and we need to play our best. Coventry has shown great spirit and mentality, so we must prepare well for the match.”

Coventry, managed by former United striker Mark Robins, famously won the FA Cup in 1987 with a surprise victory over Tottenham. They hope to continue their FA Cup journey against United, a club with whom they share historical ties.

The semi-final ties are scheduled to be played at Wembley on the weekend of April 20-21.

United last won the FA Cup in 2016, while Chelsea lifted the trophy in 2018.
