- Damina, already wounded from previous clashes with Operation Hadarin Dajia troops in Dansadau, was among the bandits on motorcycles targeted and killed during the operation
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has reported the successful elimination of the notorious bandit leader in Zamfara State, Kachallah Damina, along with numerous fighters in the state.
According to the NAF statement, the air raid was conducted in response to intelligence indicating a large gathering of bandits preparing to attack Corner Village in Bungudu Local Government Area on March 10.
Damina, already wounded from previous clashes with Operation Hadarin Dajia troops in Dansadau, was among the bandits on motorcycles targeted and killed during the operation.
Out of the 58 motorcycles carrying bandits heading for the mission, only 11 returned, many without their riders.
Security expert Zagazola Makama cited sources confirming that over 50 bandits were neutralized, and several motorcycles were destroyed in what stands as one of the most significant blows against bandit groups in the area in recent times.
“The armed forces are hunting down prominent terrorist leaders and engaging them wherever they are hiding.”
It was further gathered that Damina was an indigene of Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State and has wreaked havoc in Zamfara, Kebbi and Sokoto states.
The bandits leader was reportedly known for his savagery and for committing heartless attacks and gruesome killings.
