- JAMB extends the Direct Entry registration deadline to April 11, 2024, due to challenges candidates faced during security screening
- Dr. Fabian Benjamin assures candidates of improvements in the registration process and emphasizes the Board’s commitment to integrity
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a two-week extension for the 2024 Direct Entry registration, allowing additional time for all intending candidates to complete their registration process.
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor (PCA), issued a statement yesterday, revealing that the Direct Entry registration, which commenced on February 28, 2024, was initially scheduled to conclude on March 28. However, considering various factors, including challenges encountered by candidates during the security screening process, the Board has extended the registration deadline to April 11, 2024.
The extension was deemed necessary due to difficulties faced by candidates in navigating some of the security screening measures aimed at curbing the proliferation of fake A’level certificates among applicants.
“We apologize for any inconvenience experienced by prospective Direct Entry candidates and assure them that we are committed to improving the registration process for their convenience,” Dr. Benjamin stated.
He emphasized the Board’s determination to uphold integrity in registration, ensuring that individuals with fraudulently obtained certificates are not granted admission.
Furthermore, Dr Benjamin highlighted that candidates whose certificate-issuing institutions are among those yet to verify their certificates, despite repeated requests, will be required to fulfil the verification process before being allowed to proceed with registration.
JAMB reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining rigorous standards to safeguard the integrity and credibility of academic qualifications submitted by candidates during the registration process.
