Nasir El-Rufai, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a former governor of Kaduna State, has met with a high-ranking member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) once more, adding to the conjecture about his political future.
El-Rufai, SDP chairman Shehu Musa Gabam, and other party officials were photographed at Senator Abubakar Gada’s home in Abuja.
Senator Teslim Folarin, the APC’s 2023 candidate for governor of Oyo State, and Senator Nazif Suleiman, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Bauchi State, were also reportedly there.
The meeting at Gada’s home in Abuja on Sunday night comes after El-Rufai hosted a gathering at his Abuja residence, which included the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, Kashim Ibrahim-Imam (a chieftain of the APC), Shehu Musa Gabam, and others, for a Ramadan iftar.

El-Rufai also visited Gabam at the SDP secretariat.
The photos from these visits had sparked various reactions on social media, with many speculating El-Rufai’s potential presidential bid in 2027.
However, Muyiwa Adekeye, a media adviser to El Rufai, denied any political motives behind the visits.
Adekeye stated that the speculations were merely an “unhealthy obsession with politics,” emphasizing that personal relationships can exist independently of political affiliations.
