Again, bandits execute 9 abducted persons in Niger State

Bandits

Bandits terrorising Nigeria’s middle belt region have executed at least nine abducted persons in Niger State.

The slain abductees were among the 50 people kidnapped from Madaka Market in Rafi Local Government Area of the State.

Recall that the rampaging bandits stormed the market last Thursday and abducted the victims who are mostly women.

Twenty two persons were reportedly killed during the deadly attack on the market.

Meanwhile, it’s gathered that nine more persons were summarily executed by the bandits while the victims were being moved to the adjoining forest of the Allawa area.

The district head of Madaka, Isah Bawale Madaka, confirmed the killing of the kidnapped victims.

According to him, seven people were killed in Kukoki village while moving into the forest, with an additional two individuals losing their lives on the way.

He said, “In Kukoki village while going into the forest around Shiroro local government area of Niger State they killed seven people and killed additional two people while moving towards the forest.”

Madaka also stated that over 30 bodies have been buried so far, raising questions about the bandits’ objectives as they have not demanded ransom for the abducted individuals.

He stated that for the past few days, he had tried to monitor the route of the bandits and how to ensure the safety of the people abducted.

The Emir of Kalgara, Alhaji Ahmed Attahiru Gunna, and Hon Ismaila Modibbo, the representative of Rafi/Shiroro/Munya Federal Constituency, visited the injured victims to offer support and condolences
