Nigerian attacker, Moses Simon, will no longer take part in any sporting activity for the rest of the season.
This is after he suffered a serious injury in Nigeria’s 2-0 friendly defeat to Mali in Marrakech on Tuesday night.
According to a statement on Wednesday by his Ligue 1 club, Nantes, the winger will be sidelined for the remainder of the campaign.
The 28-year-old winger was stretchered off the pitch after a collision with the Malian goalkeeper in the first half.
The former KAA Gent player was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment.
Nantes have now said the injury which will keep him out for the rest of the 2023/24 season.
“Moses Simon was injured yesterday against Mali. Our Nigerian striker suffers from a broken fibula which means the end of the season,” the club said in a statement.
“FC Nantes is already keen to provide its full support to its attacker and wishes him a speedy recovery!”
