Deputy police commissioner found dead in apartment

Olugbemi, a member of the Lagos Police Command, had been visiting to observe the Easter holidays

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gbolahan Olugbemi was discovered deceased in his residence in Ogbomosho, Oyo State.

Olugbemi, a member of the Lagos Police Command, had been visiting to observe the Easter holidays.

Renowned for his involvement during the #EndSARS protest, the senior police officer passed away under mysterious circumstances.

His untimely demise has plunged colleagues at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) into grief.

However, FCID spokesperson ASP Aminat Mayegun stated that an investigation into his death would be launched, refuting rumors of suicide given Olugbemi’s previous roles. A source within FCID indicated that individuals who were first to encounter his body would be summoned for interrogation.

“This is to ascertain where the deceased went to before his death, who was with him at the time he entered his room, including who had his two handsets as of the time of death,” the source said.

However, insider sources said the body of the 50-year-old Police officer was reportedly found alone in his mansion.
