- Dr. Yetunde Adeniji emphasizes citizen involvement in addressing challenges, promoting unity, and fostering national development during Ramadan
The federal government has reiterated its call for Nigerians to utilize the holy month of Ramadan as an opportunity for self-reflection and the revitalization of communal bonds.
Dr. Yetunde Adeniji, Senior Special Assistant to the President on School Feeding, emphasized the importance of communal spirit while speaking at an iftar dinner and empowerment outreach organized by the Mass Literacy for the Less Privileged and Almajiri Initiative (MALLPAI) Foundation.
Against Nigeria’s enduring challenges, Adeniji stressed the need for active citizen participation in fostering positive change and national development.
She stated, “This is a time for us to reflect and remember our roots, irrespective of our challenges. We should prioritize community living and unity during Ramadan and as an integral part of our daily lives. By coming together, we promote peace and unity.”
Similarly, Aisha Atiku Bagudu, the founder of MALLPAI Foundation, highlighted the foundation’s efforts in empowering thousands of individuals and households through various initiatives, including cash assistance, food distribution, and skills acquisition training over the past decade.
Bagudu underscored the foundation’s commitment to reaching marginalized groups, particularly Almajiri children and individuals facing extreme poverty. She emphasized the importance of supporting those in need and instilling a sense of value and dignity among vulnerable communities.
Appealing to organizations and well-meaning individuals, Bagudu urged increased efforts to ensure that more vulnerable Nigerians benefit from similar initiatives to alleviate hardship and promote social inclusion.
