An accident involving a trailer conveying cows has left three persons dead in Nigeria’s middle belt State of Taraba.
It’s gathered that many of the cows being conveyed were also killed in the mishap that happened on Sunday in Jalingo, the State capital.
Several other cows, who survived the crash, ran in different directions.
The trailer was said to have left Mubi cattle market in Adamawa state Saturday night on its way to Enugu.
A search party was subsequently put together to recover the animals that ran into Jalingo town.
According to the owner of the cows, Musa Sani, a many of the cows were recovered at different parts of Jalingo.
“We thank residents of Jalingo, especially the youth that helped in searching and recovering our cows,” Sani told Daily Trust.
He said bodies of the three that died had been deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo, while those who sustained injuries were being treated.
