President Bola Tinubu has issued a heartfelt plea for peace and stability across Africa and various global hotspots, as the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported.
Addressing members of the Diplomatic Corps and Heads of International Organizations during a Ramadan Iftar gathering in Abuja, Tinubu emphasized the critical need for global harmony.
In his address, Tinubu urged ambassadors to convey the message of peace and stability to their nations, recognizing the pivotal role of diplomacy in fostering understanding and cooperation among nations.
“It is indeed an honor to address you collectively and share Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage. This moment of unity is truly precious,” he remarked.
Reflecting on the essence of Ramadan, Tinubu underscored the values of tolerance and perseverance, highlighting their significance in promoting peace and stability on a global scale.
“Ramadan epitomizes self-denial, compassion, tolerance, and resilience. It serves as a beacon of hope for peace and stability worldwide. Your presence here signifies the spirit of harmony we strive to uphold,” Tinubu affirmed.
Tinubu also implored members of the Diplomatic Corps to extend their compassion and assistance to the less fortunate, underscoring the collective responsibility to advance peace and stability globally.
In response, Ambassador Salaheddine Ibrahim, High Commissioner of Cameroon and Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to attend the Iftar gathering with Tinubu and acknowledged the significance of such gatherings in promoting intercultural dialogue and understanding.
