In the event that Acting National Chairman Umar Ililya Damagum does not step down right away, no less than sixty members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the House of Representatives have vowed to quit from the party.
Among other things, they demanded that he be replaced right away by a member of the North Central in accordance with the party’s constitution.
The members charged Damagum with giving the All Progressives Congress (APC) control over the PDP’s leadership structure.
Hon Ugochinyere Ikenga, who led five other lawmakers to address reporters at the National Assembly on Monday, delivered the threaton behalf of the 60 PDP lawmakers.
He said the Acting National Chairman, who has been allegedly engaging in anti-party activities, sold the party “for a plate of porridge.”
