The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) has urged Nigerians to pray for Nigeria’s peace and unity.
In a statement marking this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yara’dua, the Forum’s Chairman, emphasized the importance of brotherhood, community support, and nation-building.
Yara’dua highlighted the collective responsibility to combat injustices, corruption, and inequality, urging citizens to uphold principles of justice, patriotism, and dignity.
The statement reads in part, “Let us persist in our endeavors to foster a peaceful and cohesive society that cherishes the principles of liberty, human dignity, and prosperity for all.
“It is incumbent upon us collectively to offer prayers for our dear President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, and the leadership of our nation at every echelon as we strive to enhance our national fortunes and uplift the standard of living for all Nigerians.
“Let us champion justice, patriotism, and dignity in all our pursuits. Remember, no situation lasts forever, and by fulfilling our respective roles effectively, we can propel our nation towards a brighter future.”
He called for prayers for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all leaders as the nation strives for progress and improved living standards.
Similarly, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, encouraged Muslims to pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity, and prosperity, underscoring Islam’s message of peace and its power to bring positive change.
Akpabio urged believers to exemplify peace and compassion, echoing Prophet Muhammad’s teachings of care for the less fortunate.
Through collective prayers and adherence to peaceful principles, the leaders believe Nigeria can surmount its challenges and move towards a brighter future.
