The Anambra state executive council (ANSEC) has approved the release of N352m, for the reclamation, control of flood and gully erosion at Agu Awka, government reservation areas (GRA) in favour of CEFAC international limited.
Other roads contract were also awarded to various firms.
The contracts was awarded after a careful consideration of a memo presented by Ifeanyi Okoma, commissioner for works in the state, and the date of completion is 24 weeks from the date of the payment of the mobilisation fee.
In statement by Paul Nwosu, the commissioner of information in the state, said that the gully erosion site is exacerbated by non-channelization of floodwater, posing a threat to the government house and surrounding buildings.
Nwosu added that the council also gave approval for additional work to be done on the 685m length of road which pose a great danger to Isuofia-Nanka road about to be built if not constructed.
“AG Vision Construction Ltd was given the job at the cost of N393,500,000 (Three hundred and ninety-three million, five hundred thousand naira only), the statement reads.
“In a bid to better secure the State House of Assembly which was recently renovated comprehensively to ensure that lawmakers work in a conducive environment, ANSEC equally approved that gate house, security post and perimeter fence should be emplaced as well as the landscaping to enhance the aesthetics of the environment.
“The external works will also include the asphalting of the roads, laying of kerbs in the House of Assembly complex with a well-structured parking lot and dedicated green areas.
“The job went to HEMEBS Construction Nigeria Ltd at the cost of N184,656, 501.12k ( One hundred and eighty-four million, six hundred and fifty-six thousand, five hundred and one naira, twelve kobo).
The council concluded that the job is expected to be completed within three months of mobilization.
