The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested 15 individuals linked to the Shila Boys gang for alleged involvement in thefts, predominantly targeting mobile phones and personal possessions of residents.
According to a statement from Suleiman Nguroje, the state Police Public Relations Officer, which was released on their official account last Friday, the arrests took place in Yola and Jimeta during the recent Sallah celebrations.
The statement said in part, “The sustained efforts are yielding results as another 15 Shilla Cult members were arrested during the just concluded Sallah celebrations within Yola and Jimeta metropolitans.
“They are Usman Ahmadu, aged 32; Abdullahi Shuaibu, aged 18; Auwal Saleh, aged 18; Usman Abdullahi, aged 21; Auwal Isah, aged 20; Muhammad Abubakar, aged 18; Jamilu Hassan, aged 19; Abdussalam Abdullahi, aged 20; and Salisu Umar, aged19.
“Others ade Yahya Umaru, aged 25; Salahudeen Auwal, aged 18; Yusuf Ahmed, aged 20; Jamilu Sani, aged 18; Abraham Joel, aged 18; and Muhammad Auwal, aged 19, all of various addresses.
“Weapons, illicit drugs, and cellphones, amongst others, were recovered.”
