- Nine mobile phones, a POS machine, dangerous weapons and hard drugs were recovered
Police operatives in Adamawa State have arrested 15 young men, belonging to a group called Shila Boys, who specialized in snatching phones and other belongings from residents.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that hardly has a week passed in the last two to three months without a couple of the boys being arrested.
The state Police Command, which announced the latest arrests via a statement signed by Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje, said nine mobile phones, a POS machine, dangerous weapons and hard drugs were recovered.
The statement mentioned the names of the suspects as: Abdullahi Shuaibu,18; Auwal Saleh, 18; Usman Abdullahi, 21; Auwal Isah, 20; Usman Ahmadu, 32; Muhammad Abubakar,18; and Jamilu Hassan,19.
The others are Abdulsalam Abdullahi, 20; Salisu Umar,19; Yahya Umaru, 25; Salahudeen Auwal,18; Yusuf Ahmed, 20; Jamilu Sani, 18; Abraham Joel, 18; and Muhammad Auwal, 19.
The Police said the suspects were arrested during the just concluded Sallah celebrations within Yola Town in Yola South LGA, Jimeta in Yola North LGA, and the environs.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Dankombo Morris, appreciates the good people of Adamawa State for their collaboration in the fight against armed robbery, house breaking and violent crimes by radical ‘Shila’ cult group,” the police statement added.
