The Israeli army declared on Sunday that Iran’s attempted attack, utilizing hundreds of drones and missiles, had been successfully thwarted, with 99 percent of the projectiles intercepted overnight.
Addressing the public via a televised statement, Israeli army spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari affirmed, “The Iranian attack was foiled.” He reassured that none of the drones or cruise missiles launched towards Israel breached its territory, with only “a few” ballistic missiles reaching Israeli airspace.
Hagari disclosed that one of the missiles lightly struck the Nevatim base yet emphasized that the military installation remained operational.
Defense Minister Yoav Gallant underscored the collaborative effort in defending Israel’s borders, stating, “Together with the United States and additional partners, we managed to defend the territory of the State of Israel.” He emphasized the ongoing vigilance required, asserting, “The campaign is not over yet -– we must remain alert.”
