Atiku, not Wike, is national leader of PDP – Ex Enugu gov, Suswam

Former governor of Benue State, Senator Gabriel Suswam says there are no factions or opposing camps in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

He asserted that the nation’s main opposition party is under one leadership.

His assertion is coming amid insinuations that the main opposition party has been factionalised.

According to reports, the party has been divided into two camps, one camp is peopled by those who pledge allegiance to the PDP presidential candidate in the last election, Atiku Abubakar, and the other camp, belongs to the party members who are loyal to Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT.

However, Suswam told journalists in Abuja at the weekend that Atiku remains the only leader of the party.

He said, “I don’t think there are camps in PDP. We have just one PDP and all we are saying is that let us have a strong leadership.

“Wike is the Minister of FCT and he is working with the president, I don’t think he has a camp. Atiku remains the leader of our party.

“By being the presidential candidate of PDP, Atiku is automatically the leader of the party who every member should look up to”.
