The Lagos State Police Command has reported a significant crackdown on criminal elements across the metropolis, resulting in a staggering 1,019 hoodlums arrested within seven days.
The intensive operations, conducted by various area commands, divisions, and tactical units, were initiated in response to a surge in violent crimes in certain areas of the state. Acting upon the directive of the Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, law enforcement agencies mobilized to root out criminal activities from the city.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos police, provided an update on the crackdown, revealing that 1,019 individuals involved in illicit activities were apprehended between April 8 and April 14.
“All suspects apprehended during these operations will be brought before the court to face justice,” Hundeyin affirmed.
