Malam Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna State, has lauded Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State and declared him Nigeria’s foremost governor.
Speaking at a Capacity-Enhancement Workshop for Senior Government Officials of Borno, El-Rufai expressed his admiration for Zulum’s leadership prowess. The event, “Enhancing Skills of Government Officials in Policy Implementation and Productive Human Resource Management,” took place in Maiduguri, the state capital.
El-Rufai, addressing the gathering, pinpointed leadership deficiency as Nigeria’s major predicament. He extolled Zulum’s governance approach for rejuvenating and reviving economic prospects within the state.
“I believe Prof. Zulum stands out as the most effective governor in the nation. Further elaboration on this point will follow,” remarked El-Rufai.
Despite the decade-long Boko Haram insurgency, which plunged the state into turmoil, El-Rufai expressed gratification at witnessing Borno’s transformation. He underscored the progress made regarding cleanliness, organization, traffic management, and economic resurgence in Maiduguri.
“The resilience showcased by Borno State despite the adversity of Boko Haram insurgency is a testament to the calibre of leadership embodied by Governor Zulum. The ongoing restoration of normalcy reflects the exceptional leadership ethos prevalent in Borno,” emphasized El-Rufai.
Governor Zulum, in his address inaugurating the workshop, lauded El-Rufai’s selection as the lead presenter. Represented by his deputy, Dr. Umar Usman Kadafur, Zulum hailed El-Rufai’s impeccable credentials and outstanding performance in public service.
