The federal government has taken steps to ensure the effective implementation of its Performance Management System (PMS) by deploying a team of officers to monitor the activities of its Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HoCSF), announced this during a PMS retreat for federal permanent secretaries held in Abuja on Tuesday.
The move follows the recent launch of the ‘citizens delivery tracker’ by Hadiza Bala-Usman, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Coordination. This tracker aims to evaluate ministers’ performance using empirical data.
Addressing participants at the retreat, Yemi-Esan emphasized the importance of fostering a culture change to facilitate the rapid and sustainable implementation of PMS.
