- Clerk of the Senate announces postponement, stating the need for plenary sessions to begin in the renovated chambers
The Senate has deferred its return from recess for the second time.
The upper chamber of the National Assembly was initially scheduled to reconvene on April 16, 2024, but it postponed its resumption to April 23.
However, in a statement released on Thursday, the Clerk of the Senate, Chinedu Akubueze, announced yet another delay in the resumption date.
Akubueze disclosed that the Senate will now reconvene on April 30, 2024. This postponement allows plenary sessions to commence in the newly renovated chambers.
