The police command in Lagos says its has began investigation into the death of Anosikwa Patrick.

On April 20, Patrick was allegedly stabbed by a police officer at the skymall shopping mall in Ajah.

In a statement on Sunday, Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the officer has been identified as Taofeek, member of visiting 12 PMF squadron to Lagos.

“The Manager and Chief Security Officer of the mall are already in custody assisting with the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, the police officer has been identified as Inspr Taofeek, member of visiting 12 PMF squadron to Lagos,” the statement reads.

Adegoke Fayoade, Lagos police commissioner, has directed detectives from the homicide section of the state criminal investigation department to conduct a swift and thorough investigation, ensuring that the culprit is brought to book.

Adegoke added that the public will be kept informed about the investigation’s progress.
