- Sani called on Hamas to release Israeli hostages as part of moves to end the catastrophe
Senator Shehu Sani, a former lawmaker from Kaduna Central senatorial district, has urged the Islamic Republic of Iran and Israel to put down their swords and stop flexing their muscles in the name of Middle Eastern peace.
After a suspected Israeli strike on an Iranian consulate in Syria earlier this month, Iran launched a retaliatory attack on Israel on April 13. Israel responded by carrying out strikes near the Iranian city of Isfahan on Friday, though there has been no official Israeli confirmation.
Speaking on the crisis in the Middle East in an interview with journalists yesterday in Abuja, Sani condemned missiles launched by both feuding countries, saying the threat of an all-out war between Iran and Israel could herald a third world war, which is not in the interest of any nation.
Sani called on Hamas to release Israeli hostages as part of moves to end the catastrophe since October 7 in Gaza and urged Israel to respect the United Nations resolutions, stop the bombing of Gaza, and opt for dialogue to restore permanent peace.
“The World needs peace. The exchange of missiles between Iran and Israel is a threat to the peace of the Middle East and the world.”
