President Bola Ahmed Tinubu underscored Nigeria’s abundant high-grade lithium deposits during a meeting with Prime Minister Mark Rutte of the Netherlands in The Hague on Thursday. Tinubu reaffirmed his government’s dedication to fostering a favourable investment climate and forging mutually beneficial partnerships, particularly in solid minerals.
He remarked, “Considering the global landscape, there exists immense potential for collaboration, especially in solid minerals. Nigeria possesses high-grade lithium deposits that can drive the world’s transition to clean energy.”
Tinubu highlighted the diverse investment prospects in Nigeria beyond its oil reserves, showcasing the country’s vibrant youth population as a significant asset for international investors. He emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for Nigerian youth domestically, thereby curbing irregular migration and fostering mutual benefits for Nigeria and Europe through legal migration channels.
Addressing economic matters, Tinubu expressed confidence in his administration’s ability to make tough decisions for Nigeria’s long-term prosperity, citing the resilience of Nigerians and the positive performance of the Nigerian currency.
