One person has lost his life after violence broke out among hoodlums in the Ile-Epo market area of Abule-Egba, Lagos State, on Thursday.
Many people also sustained varying degrees of injuries during the upheaval in one of the State’s sprawling suburb.
The market was set ablaze by the rampaging hoodlums who unleashed terror on traders and residents of the area.

Several vehicles and tricycles were also razed, causing traffic gridlock on both sides of the Agege road.
However, over 50 suspected hoodlums have been apprehended in connection with the atrocities committed during the incident.
The suspects are currently detained at the headquarters of the Lagos State Taskforce.
Confirming the incident, Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed that over 50 suspects were arrested for their involvement in the unrest
According to witnesses, the conflict started Wednesday night when the owner of a lottery shop allegedly refused to pay a winning amount of N14,000 to one of the hoodlums. Despite numerous attempts to resolve the dispute, the situation escalated.
