A land dispute that cascaded into a violent clash has reportedly left many dead in Nigeria’s middle belt State of Nasarawa.
The incident happened on Wednesday in Mararaba Udege, Nasarawa Local Government Area of the State.
The village head of Ebbe Oka was said to have been killed during the incident which also left many other locals with varying degrees of injuries.
A local identified only as Osoebe, who is privy to the development, said the conflict was between the Ambu and Eki dwellers, both belonging to the Afo ethnic group.
The area has been deserted as the violence and upheaval have forced many residents to flee and seek refuge in neighbouring villages.
Security operatives are said to have been deployed to the area to restore normalcy and ensure the safety of lives and property
