In a statement released by his spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, Tinubu expressed this commitment during a meeting with a delegation from the African Association of Automotive Manufacturers and the Nigerian Automotive Manufacturers Association.
Represented by his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, Tinubu engaged with the delegation led by Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Ms. Doris Uzoka-Anite, in Abuja on Friday.
He urged the delegation to prioritize the production of locally manufactured vehicles of superior quality, emphasizing the need for vehicles that endure and complement the government’s efforts in revitalizing the automotive sector.
Furthermore, Tinubu called upon the association to focus on creating vehicles that are accessible to all segments of Nigerians. He emphasized this point in light of the government’s initiative to provide consumer credit to millions of Nigerians, facilitating the purchase of vehicles and essential goods and services.
