In Lagos State, an explosion at a gas retail shop has left at least two people dead.
Three other persons were said to be injured in the incident which the police said happened on Tuesday.
The incident happened at the Abule Pan, Lekki Epe Expressway in the Ibeju Lekki area of the State.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, disclosed the tragic incident in a post on his official X handle on Wednesday.
According to him, about four shops were burnt down during the incident.
The post reads, “It is just a week and we have recorded another gas explosion at a gas retail shop, this time in Ibeju-Lekki.
“Sadly, two persons died, three persons sustained injuries and four shops got razed. Let us prevent avoidable deaths. Let us be safety-conscious at all times”!
This is coming barely one week after a similar incident occurred in the state, where properties were destroyed.
Within Nigeria recalls that Residents of Ajegunle-Apapa area of the State were enveloped by trepidation and anguish after a gas explosion left a trail of devastation in its wake.
The explosion, which happened at Alaba Lane, Alayabiagba Community, left at least nine persons, including a pregnant woman, with varying degrees of injuries.
