  • He succeeded Yahaya Bello, a former governor of the state, who served from 2016 to 2024.
  • He categorised the achievement into five major categories namely; “governance, agriculture, education, health care and general information.

Usman Ododo, governor of Kogi, has listed some of his achievements to commemorate his 100 days in office.

Ododo was sworn in as the governor of the state on January 27, 2024.

Ododo, candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won the November 2023 governorship election in the state.

He took the oath of office at the inauguration ceremony in Lokoja, the state capital.

Ododo shared his first 100 days achievements on his X account on Wednesday.

He categorised the achievement into five major categories namely; “governance, agriculture, education, health care and general information.”

Surprisingly, the governor listed meeting with Nuhu Ribadu, national security adviser (NSA), and home coming of his excellency to a grand reception in Okene as part of his achievements.

The achievements includes;

GOVERNANCE

1. Announcement of the FIRST SET OF APPOINTMENTS on the first day of office

2. Home Coming of His Excellency to a Grand Reception in Okene

3. Screening/Swearing-in of New Commissioners and Senior Aides to the Governor

4. First courtesy visit by Ife-Olukotun Community in Yagba East Local Government Area

5. Participation in the Meeting of Progressive Governors Forum in Abuja

6. Joint Meeting of the Governors of Kogi, Ondo, Taraba with the Hon. Minister of Agriculture & Food Security, SenatorAbubakar Kyari.

7. Meeting with the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu

8. Launch of the Metropolitan Quick Response to Sustain the tempo of fight against threats of insecurity in Lokoja Metropolis

9. Distribution of 105 Operational Vehicles and 42 Motorcycles to Vigilante Services for Community Policing

AGRICULTURE

10. Designated and Cleared Over 8000 Hectares of Farmland For the New Farming Season

11. Conducted a Census of Genuine Farmers in the State to determine the farmers to benefit from government subsidies and interventions

12. Segregated the State into Sectors for Different Crop Production

13. Creating Strategies to store farms produce across the State.

14. Committed to sign up as the Single Largest off Taker of Agricultural Produce from Farmers in the State

EDUCATION

16.Payment of External Examination Fees for all Kogi State Students for WAEC and JAMB.

17. Payment of External Examination Fees for all Kogi State Students for WAEC and JAMB.

18. Payment of All Outstanding fees to all Students’ Association and Youth Organisations in the State

19. Embarked on the Training of teachers in Kogi State Public Schools

20. Deployed new set of Teachers Recruited by the Kogi State Government

21. Completion of Internal Roads at Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara.

22. Ongoing Construction of 350 Capacity Male and Female Hostels at CUSTECH, Osara.

23. Inspection of Key Legacy Projects at Kogi State University (KSU) Kabba, Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH) Osara, Obangede-Okaito-Ihima Road and GYB Model Science Secondary School in Ogaminana

HEALTH CARE

24. Commencement of Health Insurance Scheme Capturing over 30,000 Workers in the State with 3 Months Advance Payment by the Kogi State Government

25. Flag-off of Free Health Insurance Scheme for the Vulnerable and PWLDS in the State

26. Payment of 100 Percent to Pensioners in Local Government Service and Improved Salaries of Local Government Workers in the State

GENERAL INFORMATION

27. Installation of Transformers at Radio Kogi Headquaters in Lokoja.

28. Provided Operational Vehicles to Radio Kogi

29. Provided Solar Power to Ensure Uninterrupted Transmission at Radio Kogi in Lokoja

30. Contract for Erosion Control in Ankpa, Okene, Ijumu, Worth 29.9 Billion Naira

31. Aggressive Clearance of Drianages in Preparation for potential flooding this raining season
