Former Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu has revealed his consistent commitment to rewarding the top graduating students of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) since 2014, courtesy of the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation.

In a statement shared on his verified Facebook page on Friday morning, Kalu extended heartfelt congratulations to the awards recipients, coinciding with the 52nd convocation ceremony of the esteemed university.

Highlighting the paramount importance of education as a lasting legacy, Kalu underscored the foundation’s initiative to promote academic excellence and dedication among students.

He recounted, “In 2014, at the University of Nigeria Nsukka, the Orji Uzor Kalu Foundation introduced three award categories for the best graduating students. This initiative aimed to foster academic excellence and a culture of commitment among students.”

Expressing his satisfaction with this year’s recipients’ exceptional academic achievements, Kalu commended the impressive Cumulative Grade Point Averages (CGPAs) attained by the winners.

Ejiofor Chizoba Victor emerged as the overall best-graduating student across the university, achieving a remarkable CGPA of 4.93 in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Science. Additionally, Ugwoke Cornelius Chinemeogo, representing the Faculty of Social Sciences, secured a notable CGPA of 4.81, while also celebrating Ugwoke Cornelius Chinemeogo from the Department of Economics for his outstanding performance.
