The Labour Party (LP) will inaugurate its campaign council today in preparation for the September 21 governorship election in Edo State.
LP State Chairman Kelly Ogbaloi announced this decision to journalists in Benin after a stakeholders’ meeting over the weekend. Reverend Sam Omede would lead the campaign council as its Director-General. Dr. Ehikioya Agboga will serve as the deputy director-general, with additional responsibilities as the deputy director of Edo Central Senatorial District.
Among the notable members listed for the council are Senator Ned Imasuen, who represents Edo South, Hon. Esosa Iyawe, and Hon. Murphy Osaro Omoruyi.
Ogbaloi emphasized the meticulous selection process, ensuring individuals of impeccable character spearhead the state campaign council and the local government campaign committees.
With the inauguration of the campaign council, the LP gears up for an active engagement in the gubernatorial race, showcasing its commitment to contesting the forthcoming election with a team of dedicated and respected individuals at the helm.
