The Nigeria Police has paraded 10 suspects for various crimes such as car theft, armed robbery, one chance amongst others at the FCT command’s headquarters in Abuja on Monday
Commissioner of Police, Benneth Igwe, promised to continue to go after criminals operating in the Federal Capital Territory, and would not fail to bring them to justice.
She was quoted to have said; “As you continue to disturb the peace of the FCT we will continue to disturb you.”.
Recovered items from the suspects include six cars, N2,230,000 cash, two locally-made cartridge rifles, one locally-made pistol, one locally-made rifle, ten live cartridges, and six live ammunition, among others.
The Commissioner of Police stated that Anthony Chibuzo and an accomplice stole three cars from the FCT, then sold them in Lagos using fake plates. He urged FCT residents to report car thefts and assured efforts for their recovery.
Additionally, five suspects from Nasarawa State were arrested for “one chance” and armed robbery in the FCT.
While most suspects denied involvement, one confessed to armed robbery.
The Commissioner commended FCT residents for aiding the police and urged continued citizen participation in enhancing security.
Speaking further, the commissioner disclosed that the command had commenced an investigation into the death of one Khalid Bichi, assuring that it would do everything to bring perpetrators to book.
