Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has announced plans to build a state-of-the-art Para-soccer stadium in Birnin Kebbi, aimed at promoting the sport and fostering a sense of inclusivity for people with disabilities.
The Governor made this pledge while serving as the special guest at the Para-soccer competition final in Birnin Kebbi, the state capital, where the home team emerged victorious with a 3-0 win over Jega.
According to Governor Idris, the stadium will not only enhance the self-esteem of individuals living with disabilities but also provide a platform for identifying and nurturing talented athletes among them, potentially representing the state and nation in national and international competitions.
“Let me encouraged the players to dedicate their time and energy to the game towards earning a living. This game, if properly harnessed, would change the players’ lives for the better,” Idris said.
In his speech, the Chairman of Kebbi State FA , Abubakar Chika-Ladan, appealed to the Governor to sustain his support for sporting activities in the state.
