NCS Board Confirms Appointments of Five DCGs, Eight ACGs

The appointments were ratified during the 59th regular meeting of the service held at the NCS Headquarters

  • The Nigeria Customs Services Board (NCSB) endorsed appointments of five Deputy Comptrollers-General (DCGs) and eight Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs) of Customs
  • The appointments were ratified during the 59th regular meeting by Minister of Finance, Mr. Wale Edun, to fill vacancies

The Nigeria Customs Services Board (NCSB) has officially endorsed the appointment of five Deputy Comptrollers-General (DCGs) and eight Assistant Comptrollers-General (ACGs) of Customs.

Abdullahi Maiwada, Chief Superintendent of Customs and National Public Relations Officer, released a statement on Wednesday stating that the appointments were ratified during the 59th regular service meeting held at the NCS Headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday.

Maiwada indicated that the meeting was presided over by the Honorable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, who confirmed the appointments to fill vacancies resulting from the recent retirement of senior officers.

“The appointments, guided by the principles of federal character, seniority, and merit, were approved by the Board,” Maiwada remarked.

The newly appointed Deputy Comptrollers General include OO Peters, DCG/Commander Training and Doctrine Command (rtd); BM Jibo, DCG Enforcement Inspection & Investigation; BU Nwanfor, DCG Excise, Free Trade Zone & Industrial Incentives; SA Bomai, DCG Commander Training and Doctrine Command; and CK Niagwan, DCG Tariff & Trade.

Among the Assistant Comptrollers General appointed are B Imam, ACG Board; AAS Oloyede, ACG Trade & Tariff; SK Dangaldima, ACG/Zonal Coordinator Zone ‘B’; A Abdul Azeez, ACG/Zonal Coordinator Zone ‘D’; SA Yusuf, ACG Human Resource Development; NP Umoh, ACG Training and Doctrine Command; CO Obih, ACG/Zonal Coordinator Zone ‘C’; and S Chiroma, ACG Strategic Research and Policy.

The statement reiterated that the appointments were made to address vacancies resulting from recent retirements, with adherence to federal character, seniority, and merit.

These appointments recognize the officers’ exemplary service and dedication to the Nigeria Customs Service. The NCSB reaffirms its commitment to providing strategic leadership for effective and efficient service delivery.

Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, expressed gratitude to retired management members for their service and congratulated the newly confirmed officers, urging them to intensify efforts to elevate the service’s performance in revenue generation, smuggling suppression, and trade facilitation.
