The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) said it has made significant strides in the fight against drug trafficking in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The agency said it arrested over 80 suspected drug dealers and seizing approximately 3,000kg of drugs between January and March.
According to Mr. Kabir Tsukuwa, Commander of Narcotics, NDLEA FCT Command said over 50 suspects have been prosecuted, with 12 convictions and varying jail terms.
The agency’s sustained efforts have helped mitigate the drug situation in the FCT and beyond.
Despite the global nature of drug abuse, the NDLEA remains committed to combating drug trafficking and abuse through consistent raids and seizures, with notable successes in 2023, including the arrest of over 500 suspects and seizure of 7,000kg of assorted drugs.
