- The PDP accused the governor for failing to fulfill promises regarding LG elections.
- The party also accused the governor of fraudulent actions and prioritizing personal gain over the welfare of the Imo people.
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Imo has strongly condemned Hope Uzodimma’s decision to conduct local government areas (LGAs) elections.
The party described the planned election as “another dubious means to extort Imo people.”
The governor recently appointed 27 sole administrators to oversee the councils for 60 days, sparking criticism from the PDP.
The party’s acting chairman, Engr Chidi Dike, expressed disappointment and questioned the governor’s commitment to conducting free and fair elections.
Dike alleged that Uzodimma’s mandate is not legitimate, casting doubt on his ability to oversee credible electoral processes.
The PDP also demanded transparency in the management of LG allocations since Uzodimma assumed office and accused him of failing to fulfill promises regarding LG elections.
The party labeled the governor’s actions as fraudulent and accused him of prioritizing personal gain over the welfare of Imo people.
The PDP cautioned Uzodimma against playing to the gallery and urged him to prioritize the interest of the state over personal enrichment.
The party’s strong stance reflects ongoing political tensions and concerns regarding governance in Imo State.
