Top Nigerian Lawmaker Dies In India


A lawmaker in Nigeria’s north east State of Adamawa, Hon Abdulmalik Jauro Musa, has passed away.

The deceased legislator, until his death, represented Ganye constituency in the Adamawa State House of Assembly.

Jauro reportedly died in the early hours of Friday, May 24, while undergoing medical treatment in India.

Abdulmalik Musa, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was the deputy minority whip in the House, which is predominantly composed of members from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a tribute, a friend of the deceased, Abdurasheed Takai, expressed condolences, saying, “May death be a rest to you, Hon Abdulmalik Musa Jauro.”

The Adamawa State chapter of the APC also confirmed his death in a statement issued by the its publicity secretary, Mohammed Abdullahi.

The party said Abdulmalik Jauro Musa death came as a shock to its members and extended heartfelt condolences to Musa’s immediate family, colleagues in the House of Assembly, friends, well-wishers, and the entire APC family in Ganye Local Government Area
