Tinubu Urges Patience Amid Economic Hardship

'NAF at 60: Leveraging Strategic Partnership in Aerospace Innovations for Regional Security'

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on Nigerians to remain patient during the current economic hardships, assuring them that these challenges are temporary and will soon end.

Speaking at the 60th anniversary celebration of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Kaduna, Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, pledged continued support for modernizing NAF’s capabilities to enhance national security.

The event, themed ‘NAF at 60: Leveraging Strategic Partnership in Aerospace Innovations for Regional Security,’ highlighted the federal government’s significant investments in advanced multi-role combat air attack helicopters and other platforms to bolster NAF’s effectiveness.

Praising the aerial display and combat readiness of NAF personnel, Tinubu emphasized that security remains a top priority for his administration and is crucial for national development.

“We have made substantial investments in procuring state-of-the-art multi-role combat air attack helicopters and other platforms to enhance the NAF’s capabilities, including surveillance aircraft, T129 attack helicopters, Augusta 109 multi-role helicopters, Diamond 62 surveillance aircraft, and M46 attack aircraft,” he stated.

Tinubu urged Nigerians to be patient, describing the economic hardship as a temporary sacrifice that will soon end. He stressed the importance of a societal approach to understanding contemporary security challenges and promised ongoing support for the NAF and the armed forces in achieving national peace and security.

He congratulated the NAF on its 60th anniversary and honoured those who sacrificed their lives to serve the nation.
