- He charged the members of the National Assembly to join hands with him in building a new prosperous Nigeria for future generations
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu says all hands must be on deck to build a Nigeria that everyone will be proud of.
He made the remark when he delivered a brief speech at the joint session of the National Assembly to mark the occasion of his one year as president.
He charged the members of the National Assembly to join hands with him in building a new prosperous Nigeria for future generations
Tinubu said those in leadership positions in the country and Nigerians have no choice but to collaborate to build a new Nigeria, saying no one else will do that for them.
He said: “Let us work together to build our nation, not only for ourselves but for generations yet unborn. We must chart a new course and set the path for our development.”
He hailed the legislators for having a smooth working relationship with his government and for swift passing of the 2024 budget.
The President assured the lawmakers that he would soon submit the 2025 budget proposal to them for consideration, saying, “We are walking the talks.”
Congratulating Nigerians for 25 years of unbroken democracy, the President told them that it is possible that he would not have been President if he had not passed through the National Assembly, saying “I started from here.”
