One Emenike Agugwo has been remanded in a correction facility for allegedly defiling a 16-year old girl in Lagos State.
An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court ordered the remand of the 34-year-old suspect, who resides at Agodo in the Ikotun area of Lagos, on Thursday.
Agugwo is charged with defilement.
He was said to have have committed the crime at about 7:30p.m., on April 4 at Okesanya Street, Papa–Ajao, Lagos Barcha, Lagos.
The Prosecutor, Insp John Iberedem, told the court that the suspect l forcefully had sexual intercourse with the victim without her consent.
The prosecutor said the offence contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Chief Magistrate, Mrs E. Kubeinje who did not take Agugwos’ plea, ordered that he should be remanded in a correctional centre.
She adjourned the matter until June 26 for advice from the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP)
