Police Arrest Traffic Robber While Attempting To Steal Commuter’s Phone In Lagos

The operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) of the police command in Lagos have arrested a suspected traffic robber in Ketu area of the state.

This is contained in a statement on issued by Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos police spokesperson on Thursday.

He said the suspect was arrested on Wednesday while attempting to dispossess a passerby of his mobile phone.

The command said the traffic robbery suspect identified as Hakeem Badamosi, aged 29, is an ex-convict, who was armed with a machete and charms.

The statement said the suspect tried to flee upon seeing the officers but was promptly rounded up with the assistance of eyewitnesses.

In a separate incident, the command said it also apprehended another two suspected vandals in Alausa business district in Ikeja, the state capital.

“Two suspected vandals, Jeremiah Odika ‘m’ aged 20 and Aaron Gabbis ‘m’ aged 19, were arrested in the Alausa Business District, Ikeja in the act of removing a road signpost,” the statement said.

Hundeyin said items recovered from them included: “a machete, charms, and the stolen signpost.”

“All suspects have been charged to court,” the statement said.
