- The previous committee meeting on May 31 ended abruptly when the Organised Labour negotiating team walked out of the meeting
The Federal Government through the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, (NSIWC), has called for a meeting of the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage scheduled for tomorrow.
The previous committee meeting on May 31 ended abruptly when the Organised Labour negotiating team walked out due to the government and organised private sector’s refusal to increase the offer beyond N60,000.
The move indicates that the government is concerned about the workers’ compliance and participation in the ongoing indefinite nationwide strike.
The proposed meeting is scheduled to hold by 10am on Tuesday.
The organized labour shut down the nation’s economy on Monday due to the Federal government’s inability to adopt its proposed national minimum wage.
