The residents reportedly drowned while fleeing from the terrorists’ attack in the Gurmana community of Shiroro Local Government Area.

It’s gathered that locals in the community often ferried themselves to an island in a canoe where they seek refuge from bandits who frequently target the area.

However, many of the locals who had fled to the island on Wednesday died while returning home on Thursday after their boat capsized.
