Ramatu Abubakar, a resident from Niger, who travelled on a holy pilgrimage to the kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the year 2024 annual Hajj pilgrimage has died.
The state’s Pilgrims Welfare Board disclosed the death of Ramatu Abubakar in a statement.
It was learnt that the deceased was aged 45 years.
The death of the Niger State pilgrim was contained in a statement by the Public Relations Officer of the board, Jibrin Usman Kodo.
The statement said that the deceased was among the pilgrims in the first flight that departed the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Airport Minna for Saudi Arabia last week
According to the statement, Abubakar who hails from Bida local government area of the state died in Madina after she fell ill on arrival and was admitted at the hospital where she passed on.
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) began airlifting pilgrims from Nigeria on May 15.
