- Festus Akingbaso, representing Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency, chosen as PDP’s deputy governorship candidate for November 16 election
- PDP spokesperson Kennedy Peretie confirms Akingbaso’s selection, expressing confidence in the Agboola/Akingbaso ticket for victory
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has chosen Festus Akingbaso, the representative for Idanre/Ifedore federal constituency of Ondo State, as its deputy governorship candidate for the upcoming November 16 governorship election.
Akingbaso, widely known as “FessyWest,” will join the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Agboola Ajayi, as his running mate.
During a conversation with our correspondent on Sunday, Kennedy Peretie, the state PDP spokesman, confirmed this decision.
“A committee was tasked with reviewing the candidates vying for the deputy governorship position, and after careful consideration, they settled on him (Festus Akingbaso),” Peretie stated.
“We anticipate that the Agboola/Akingbaso ticket will lead the party to victory in the November governorship election. With the political experience of both individuals, we foresee a significant win for the party,” he added.
Akingbaso will replace Samuel Ogunmusi, whose name was previously submitted to INEC as a temporary placeholder.
INEC announced that 17 political parties have met the requirements to participate in the upcoming state governorship election.
