The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has raised alarm over the deteriorating state of Nigeria’s democracy.
The party urged citizens and civil society organizations to take immediate action to address the challenges facing the country.
In a statement signed by Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, Acting National Publicity Secretary, the PRP lamented the erosion of civic rights, the lack of transparency and accountability, and the monetization of the electoral process, which it said had undermined the very foundation of democracy in Nigeria.
The party called on Nigerians to mobilize and demand better from their leaders, emphasizing the need for a participatory, inclusive, and accountable democracy that serves the interests of all citizens.
The PRP also honored the memory of heroes past and present who fought for Nigeria’s freedom and rights, and urged collective action to build a truly democratic Nigeria where power resides in the people.
