Eid-el-Kabir: Kingibe felicitates Muslims

Senator Ireti Kingibe, representing the Federal Capital Territory, extended her congratulations to Nigerians, particularly Muslims, on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

This announcement was made in a statement released in Abuja by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Kennedy Mbele.

The senator urged Nigerians, especially leaders, to reflect on and emulate the virtues of sacrifice demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.

She noted that there is a profound lesson in how Prophet Ibrahim was willing to sacrifice his only son, Issah, without hesitation, and how Allah subsequently blessed him abundantly, making him the father of all nations.

She said, “The gap between the rich and the poor in this country is inexplicable. The rich must therefore make some meaningful sacrifices to reduce the vast gap. For progress to be made in life, some valuables must be given up for the sake of other considerations.

“I wish everyone a peaceful and unifying Eid-el-Kabir celebration.”

While praying for the safety of all faithful on pilgrimage in Mecca, the senator saluted her constituents in Abuja for their accommodating nature.

“Being one another’s keeper was imperative in achieving peace anywhere, especially in a heterogeneous setting like the nation’s capital, Abuja,” she stated.
