The Delta State Commissioner of Police Monitoring Unit has said it arrested two suspects with illicit hard drugs in Asaba.
The suspects were arrested on June 13.
They were identified as Emeka Ozumu, 49, and Patrick Otukam, 30.
Thirteen bottles of codeine, as well as 23 sachets of tramadol and other hard drugs were recovered from them.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe confirmed the development in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, has urged youths to shun all forms of crime and also stay away from drug abuse as it is dangerous to their health and also capable of pushing them into criminal activities.
Olufemi noted that operatives of the Crack Squad, Monitoring Unit and Raiders Squad have been deployed to crackdown on a drug peddling hideouts in the state.
He warned that anyone found wanting would be arrested and charged to court.
