Mob sets man ablaze for stabbing 18-year-old POS operator to death

A yet-to-be-identified man has been lynched by an irate mob for killing a teenager in the Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The deceased was set ablaze for stabbing the teenager, a female Point of Sale, POS, operator to death.

The POS operator, an 18-year-old young lady, was said to be preparing to write her NECO exams before she was grisly murdered.

It’s not immediately clear why the man stabbed the teenager to death.

It’s gathered that the incident happened on Monday around the Wukari Yam market.

Locals, infuriated by the man’s actions, chased and apprehended him and burned him alive.

The Chairman of Wukari LGA, Ismaila Dauda, confirmed the incident to newsmen.

According to him, “It is true one young man stabbed a POS operator to death on Monday, June 17.

“He was pursued, caught, and lynched by a mob. It is a sad incident because the POS operator, who was an 18-year-old girl, was preparing to write her NECO exams before her untimely death.”

The spokesperson of the State Police Command, DSP Gambo Kwache, also confirmed the incident
